

Broccoli & Potato Puree




Ingredients
100g broccoli florets
1 medium potato
A little water (if needed)

Method
Step 1
Roughly chop the broccoli (stalks are fine) and peel and dice the potato.
This is a lovely puree but you can also mash for a different texture. Use a steamer if possible as this helps to retain vitamins. You can add this puree to pureed meat, lentils or pulses once your little one is eating more complex flavours.

Put a pan on the heat and steam the diced potato for 10 minutes, then add the broccoli and steam for a further 5 minutes, until soft. Alternatively you can boil the potato and broccoli for about 10 minutes.

Once tender, blend to a smooth puree, adding some water if required (just enough to get the right consistency) – a hand blender will give the smoothest texture, but a food processor or blender can also be used.
