Put half this mixture in a bowl and set to one side. Add the water, potato and sweetcorn to the pan and stir to mix. Cover and simmer for about 15 minutes.

Add the herbs, then puree or roughly mash the mixture before adding the reserved vegetables. Add extra water if a thinner consistency is preferred. You can puree this recipe down for younger babies and then serve as a side dish for the rest of the family.

If you've been asking whether babies can have sweetcorn, this recipe also works perfectly as a puree for younger ones. The standard sweetcorn mash recipe is also a great alternative to traditional mash for the rest of the family - just serve alongside some fish or meat!

Try experimenting with your baby sweetcorn puree by adding different herbs and spices to start gently introducing lots of exciting tastes and flavours.
