Method
Peel, de-seed and chop the fruit into 2cm chunks.
Place in a small saucepan with 8 tbsp. cold water and simmer with the lid on for about 7 minutes until the fruit is tender and a knife passes through it easily.
Allow to cool for 5 minutes then puree with a stick blender until smooth.
This apple and pear puree for baby is unashamedly easy and simple to prepare, but incredibly delicious. If you have a vanilla pod in the kitchen, then split it open and scrape half the seeds in as you cook the fruit. Vanilla adds a natural sweetness and depth of flavour to our apple and pear baby food.
Our pear puree for baby keeps in the fridge in an airtight container for 3 days or freezes well for 1 month. Defrost in the fridge overnight and reheat on the hob or in the microwave until piping hot. Stir well and always check the heat of baby food before serving.
