10 tsps nut or seed butter (see alternative options)
3 tsps cocoa powder
Zest of 2 oranges (reserve a little for topping)
1 tbsp orange juice
10 soft dates

Orange slices

Method

Mix together the nut or seed butter, cocoa powder, orange zest and juice to form a paste.

Slice the dates open (not completely in half), then add a little of the cocoa & orange mixture to the middle.

Close the opened date slightly then sprinkle with a little extra zest. Serve immediately.

Great for an after dinner treat served on a platter for the family to enjoy.

You could use thick Greek yogurt or coconut cream instead of the nut or seed butter but these won’t last long outside the fridge, so will need to be made very fresh.
