Introducing green beans at 6-9 months
Steam or boil Green Beans until very soft.
Remove any stringy elements of the bean.
Green beans make a great first puree.
Introducing green beans at 9-12 months
Perfect for baby-led weaning. Offer soft green beans as a finger food.
Slice the green bean lengthways.
Once cooked, green beans separate lengthways easily.
Once halved lengthways, chop into small 1cm pieces.
Mash with the back of a fork add butter and a squeeze of lemon.
Introducing green beans at 12-18 months
You can now reduce the cooking time of green beans to offer more bite and texture.
Continue to slice beans lengthways.
Chop into larger bite-sized pieces!
Offer a fork to spear the green bean pieces and encourage independent self-feeding!
